B. TECH PROGRAMMES IN ECE, CSE, IT, BIOTECH, BIOINFORMATICS, CIVIL ENGINEERING, CHEMICAL ENGINEERING, MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, 5 YEAR DUAL DEGREE PROGRAMMES B TECH-M TECH (CSE), 5 YEAR DUAL DEGREE B. TECH-M. TECH (BIOTECH) AND 5 YEAR DUAL DEGREE B TECH-MBA (CSE & ECE BRANCHES ONLY) AND 6 YEAR DUAL DEGREE PROGRAM B. PHARMA-M. PHARMA PRACTICE (Students with Physics & Maths at 10+2 level)
The admissions to the above programmes are made on the basis of merit in all India AIEEE examination. Candidates must therefore appear in the AIEEE examination conducted by the CBSE. Further, the candidates also have to fill in a separate application form, for which the advertisement is taken out as also information uploaded on the website around third week of February. The information also lists the places from where the forms can be obtained and procedure of sending the applications. Forms are generally made available at Selected Branches of nominated banks as given in the advertisement. Last date of submission of forms is specified which generally is one day prior to the conduct of AIEEE exam.
The minimum academic qualification for admission to any one of the programs listed above is a pass in the 10+2 or its equivalent* with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and any one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science or English as optional subjects.
*Equivalent examination to 10+2 (As per AIEEE)
§ The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
§ Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University.
§ Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
§ Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.
§ H.S.C. Vocational Examination.
§ A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
§ 3 or 4-year diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.
§ Seats/Institutes in the above programmes shall be allotted on the basis of preferences indicated at the time of counseling, strictly in order of merit obtained in AIEEE ranking. Candidates must go through instructions carefully regarding place of counseling, filling up of choices of programmes & institutes. These shall be clearly mentioned in counseling instructions. Ignorance of laid down instructions shall be responsibility of the candidate.
§ 50% seats in B. Pharma - M. Pharma Practice Program shall be based on merit obtained by candidates in AIEEE exams.
50% of seats shall be allocated to candidates with Biology and Physics as core subjects in 10+2 exams. In such cases candidate should submit the application directly to the JIIT, Noida (for both JIIT & JUIT) for making a common merit. The applications shall be submitted after the advertisement (3rd week of February). The information shall also be uploaded on the website around third week of February.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA OF SUBJECTS IN QUALIFYING EXAMS (FOR STUDENTS WITH PHYSICS AND BIOLOGY AT 10+2 LEVEL).
Physics & Biology shall be the core subjects in 10+2 or equivalent examination*. Besides above the candidate can have any two out of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science and English as other subjects.
The merit list shall be arrived at through a process of normalization as given below:
Normalized Index = 0.25 * S/T
Where P=Physics, B=Biology, C=Chemistry, BT=Biotechnology, CS=Computer Science, E=English
S=P+B+BEST TWO OF (C,CS,E,BT)
T=Percentage of the topper of that board.
The Institutes reserves the right to do the normalization on the basis of estimated T in case it is not available from corresponding Board/University or the candidate.
*Equivalent examination to 10+2
Criteria for Year of Qualifying Examination and Date of Birth (for admissions 2008)
§ Only those candidates are eligible to apply who have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination not before 2006 or those appearing in 2008 and
§ Those candidates appearing in the final examination in 2008 are also eligible to appear for the Entrance Test for consideration of provisional admission. All candidates who are offered provisional admission will be required to produce proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) to the University authority latest by September 30, 2008 failing which, such provisional admission will stand cancelled. If the results in qualifying examinations are likely to be declared after September 30, 2008 the candidates are advised to seek admission next year as no representations for extension of dates for any reason whatsoever, shall be entertained.
§ Whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1986. (Date of Birth as recorded in the High School/Secondary Education Board/University Certificate only will be taken as authentic).
§ While 50% of seats in the Pharmacy Program shall be allotted on the basis of merit in AIEEE examination as per procedure already listed above the balance 50% shall be allotted based on merit drawn as per normalization procedure listed below.
§ The list of selected students shall also be put up on the website and students informed through provisional admission letter directly.
