MP Professional examination board, Bhopal will conduct entrance tests for admission to AICTE approved
MCA/MBA courses in institutions located in the state of Madhya Pradesh for academic session 2012-13
MBA & ALLIED COURSES: An entrance test MET-2012 test, shall be conducted by VYAPAM for selection of candidates for admission to Management and Allied courses. The test shall have the following components:
(i) Written test (WT) -80% marks
(ii) Group Discussions (GD) -10% marks
(iii) Interview (I) -10% marks
An entrance test Pre-MCA-2012, shall be conducted by VYAPAM for selection of candidates for admission to MCA course. The test shall have only one question paper containing questions from the subjects Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science and Logical & Numerical ability as per the prescribed syllabus
a) The candidate should be an Indian national
b) MBA and allied course:
Candidate should be a graduate or post graduate with at least 50% marks
(40% in case of SC, ST, OBC category of Madhya Pradesh) in aggregate of
any UGC/AICTE approved Indian university or from a foreign university
recognized by association of Indian universities (AIU) or institute
recognized by the concerned university as equivalent thereto. The
Bachelor’s degree must be of minimum three years duration after passing
Higher Secondary (10+2) examination of (10+2) system or equivalent.
c). MCA course:
Candidate should be a graduate of any UGC/AICTE approved Indian
university or from a foreign university recognized by association of
Indian universities (AIU) or institute recognized by the concerned
university as equivalent thereto. The bachelor’s degree must be of
minimum three years duration in any discipline with mathematics as
compulsory or an additional subject at either higher secondary (10+2) or
at graduation level. Candidates with bachelor of computer application
(BCA) degree of minimum three years duration all also eligible for
Candidates in the final year of any degree examination can also appear in the MET-2012/MCA-2012
on provisional basis. But such a candidate shall have to produce the
original certificate of having passed/mark sheet of the final year of
the degree examination at the time of counseling.
TEST CITY :The entrance test shall be held at the cities stated below:

Board reserves the right to change/ shift the examination city opted by the candidate, if the number of applicants in a particulars city is not adequate to hold examination in that city.
ALGEBRA : - Solution of simultaneous equations. Binomial theorem. logarithmic and exponential series, Determinants and its properties. Matrices, addition and multiplication of matrices, computation of inverse of matrix.
CO-ORDINATE GEOMETRY : - Circle, Tangent, orthogonal circles, coaxial system of circles, parabola, ellipse and hperbola, their equations in standard form and simple properties.
DIFFERENTIAL AND INTEGRAL CALCULUS:-Differentiation of algebraic, exponential and logarithmic functions, application to simple problems, maxima and minima, partial differentiation of function of two variables. Integration by parts,
definite integrals and their properties, area, volume and surfaces (of simple curves), Trapezoidal rule, Simpson's rule.
DIFFERENTIAL AND DIFFERENCE EQUATIONS : -Linear differential equations of first order, Dirrerence equations of first order.
STATISTICS: - Theory of Probability, averages, dispersion and standard deviation, Coefficient of variation, skewness and do-efficient of skewness coefficient of correlation, interpolation, index numbers their importance, time series, fitting of curves,, Method of least squares, binomial Poisson and Normal distributions.
COMPUTER SCIENCE:- Basic concepts of computer organization, number systems, Elementary programming in Basic.
LOGICAL AND NUMERICAL ABILITY : -Simple questions to test numerical, analytical and logical abilities of the candidate.
Reading and Comprehension - 30 question
Verbal and Writing ability - synonyms, antonyms sentence completion, verbal analogies, vocabulary, Writing ability. - 60 questions
Numerical ability - 50 questions
Business data interpretation - 20 questions
Data Sufficiency - 20 questions
Business Judgement - 20 questions
3 marks will be awarded for each correct response, but no mark (Zero Mark) will be awarded for an incorrect response or multiple response or unanswered question. there shall be no negative marking.
The Question paper will contain 200 questions for MET and 100 questions for MCA. Total duration of the test for MET will be of 3 hours and for MCA will be of 02 hours 15 minutes, out of which the first fifteen minutes are allotted for making the entries in the OMR answer sheet and inspecting the question booklet for any printing for other errors etc.
