B.Ed. Guidelines Candidates
who have passed the UG degree in the following subjects can apply for
B.Ed. through distance mode: Tamil, Tamil literature, English,
Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Applied Physics,
Geo-Physics, Bio-Physicis, Electronics, Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry,
Applied Chemistry, Botany, Environmental Science, Bio-Technology,
Plant-Biology, Zoology, Micro-Biology, History, Geography, Applied
Geography, Computer Science, Computer Application and Information
Technology.
Post Graduates in Economics, Commerce, Home
Science, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy, Logic
and Indian Culture can also apply.
In-Service teachers with 2
years full-time teaching experience in a Nursery / Primary/ Secondary/
Higher Secondary / Matriculation / CBSE School in Tamilnadu recognized
by the State or Central Government can only apply. Candidates
having a direct UG degree (without X and +2 qualifications) /
candidates having a direct Post-Graduate degree in Open University
System (without a UG degree) are not eligible.
The
candidates should have passed the UG Degree Examination in the 11+1+3
stream or 10+2+3. However, after 10th Standard, candidates who have
undergone Two years Bachelor Preparatory Programme Certificate / Two
years Foundation Course Certificate/Two years Diploma Course conducted
by State Governement / Recognised Universities and qualified with three
years UG Degree Course are also considered eligible.
Candidates who have taken more than one main / major subject in Part
III (under Double/Triple Major System) of UG Degree course have to
choose only one of the main subjects and should have applied for the
Optional only. In such cases, marks obtained by the candidates in
Two/Three major subjects shall be taken into account to arrive at
percentage of marks.
Candidates who have passed under Double
Degree/Additional Degree Programme with less than three years duration
are not eligible for admission.
Candidates who have qualified
in PG Degree (5 year Integrated Course) under 10+2+5 or 11+1+5 pattern
of study shall be considered for admission. In such cases, the marks
obtained by the candidates in the first three years (in Major and
Ancillary subjects alone) of the course alone shall be taken into
account for admission to the B.Ed. Degree Programme.
Candidates
who have taken more than one main / major subject in Part III (under
Double/Triple Major System) of UG Degree course have to choose only one
of the main subjects and should have applied for the Optional only. In
such cases, marks obtained by the candidates in Two/Three major
subjects shall be taken into account to arrive at percentage of marks.
Candidates who have passed under Double Degree/Additional Degree

Candidates who have passed PG
Degree in Economics, Commerce, Home Science, Political Science,
Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy, Logic and Indian Culture without
undergoing 10+2+3 pattern of education shall not be considered for
admission.
Candidates should be currently working in schools
(Nursery / Primary / Middle/ High School / Higher Secondary /
Matriculation / CBSE) in Tamil Nadu recognized by State / Central
Government.
Only the teachers in school service are eligible;
others who are working in Arts and Science Colleges / ITIs /
Polytechnics / Engineering Colleges are not eligible.
Two years
teaching experience of a candidate in a recognized school outside Tamil
Nadu shall also be considered. However, such candidates must be
in-service in a recognized school in Tamil Nadu while applying
Teaching
experience in different schools will be taken into account for two
years of service. There may be a break in the two years of teaching
experience. But, candidate must be working currently in a recognised
school.
Candidates having a Cross-Major Subject in PG Degree (that is, PG subjects different from UG subjects) are not eligible (For example, candidates with B.A Economics and M.A. History).
Other state candidates are not eligible for applying.
B.Ed. Special Education Students Admission
The
candidates should have passed the UG Degree Examination from any UGC
recognised University in the 10+2+3 stream or 11+1+3. Candidates who
have a direct UG degrees (without +2 qualification) /Post-Graduate
degrees (without a UG degree) are not eligible.
Weightage will be given to the candidates fulfilling any one of the following conditions.
recognised schools will be given weightage in selection.
be
a teacher having minimum of two years in teaching to the disabled
children in a recognised schools will be given weightage in selection.
be a parent of a child with disability.
be a person with disability.
possess any RCI recognised qualification.
