Indian Maritime University (IMU) announces admission for B.Tech (Marine Engineering) in IMU Chennai campus through special admission test (SAT)
The Special Admission Test shall have 180 objective type multiple choice questions each carrying one mark each distributed in six subjects which are to be attempted during the 3 Hours duration. The standard of this Special Admission Test will generally be that of 10+2 level. These six subjects are as follows:
Chemistry 20 questions English 25 questions Mathematics 40 questions Physics 40 questions Reasoning Aptitude 25 questions General Knowledge 30 questions Total 180 questions
A pass in 10+ 2 or its equivalent examination with minimum 60% aggregate
in Physics, chemistry and Mathematics group, and at least 50% in
English at 10th or 12th standard.
Age: Minimum 17 years and Maximum 25 years (Not more than 25 years). The age limit is relaxable by 2 years in case of female candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
Physical and Medical Standards Medically fit as per the standards set by merchant shipping Medical Examination Rules, 2000 as amended from time to time.
Eye Sight: Distance
vision (unaided) 0.5 (values given in Snellen Decimal Notation) (6/12)
in each eye or 0.67 (values given in Snellen Decimal Notation). (6/9) in
better eye and 0.33 (Values given in Snellen Decimal Notation) and
(6/18) in other eye. Normal colour vision.
Eligibility: Unmarried (male/female) Indian Citizens, limited foreign nationals may be admitted.
