Application cum Prospectus for MD/MS Courses 2010 Session can be obtained by one of the following methods:
From the counter of State Bank of India (SBI), JIPMER Campus only from 18-11-2009 to 31-12-2009.
OR
Postal request to Professor Academic, JIPMER from 18-11-2009 to 23-12-2009.
OR
On Line submission through JIPMER website from 18-11-2009 to 23-12-2009.
Process of Payment for Application:-
Applicants
may opt to remit the prescribed cost of the Prospectus-cum-Application
Form (Examination fee included) through one of the following methods.
Direct cash payment at State Bank of India (SBI) counter, JIPMER Campus only. No Application will be issued directly from the Academic Section.
OR
Bank Draft MICR Demand Draft for Rs 1,000/ (For unreserved/Institute/OBC) and Rs.800/- (For SC/ST) issued by any Nationalized Bank, drawn in favour of “Accounts Officer, JIPMER” payable at Puducherry (Union Territory).
OR
Account Transfer:
Applicants
who maintain account with Banks other than SBI may remit the fee by
account transfer using the National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT)

Such
Applicants opting for payment through this mode of account transfer are
required to enclose their original challan with the UTR (Unique
Transaction Reference) Number from the remitting Bank duly stamped. For
those with account SBI, the SBI Journal Number must be noted in the
original challan enclosed.
Postal Request On-Line Application Form
Prospectus cum application can also be had from Professor (Academic), JIPMER, Puducherry-605 006 on or before 23-12-2009
through postal requests, accompanied by proof of their payment either
by enclosing original DD or original challan of account transfer from
their bank towards the cost of the Prospectus (refer above).
On Line Application: JIPMER MD/MS 2010 Applications can be submitted by an ON LINE process (Internet based) by accessing the http://admissionnews.com/controlpanel/www.jipmer.edu.in from 18-11-2009 to 23-12-2009. The Prospectus can be downloaded from the available link.
Filling Up the Form
The
candidate is required to go through the prospectus carefully and
acquaint himself / herself with all requirements and eligibility and
submission deadlines.
The
forms must be filled in Black Ball point only. No smudges should be
left in this Application Form as they could interfere with further
processing for Hall Ticket, etc.
Application
should be filled up by the candidate and not by anyone on his or her
behalf. On Selection, admission forms are also to be filled up by
candidate.
Candidate
is advised to maintain the same signature in all documents. If there is
any discrepancy, admission will be annulled without any further
correspondence.
Please read the instructions for photo given on the back inner cover of the Prospectus.
Photos and Signature in the Form:-
Photos
submitted by the candidate should be identical in the application form,
in the exam hall and later at the time of counseling/admission. Any
deviation will be subject to scrutiny and invite legal action.
Candidate is required to carry an identical photograph for any need in
the Exam. Hall on 14-2-2010.

Applications
are Invited from Resident Indian Nationals for admission to MBBS Course
(No. of seats 98) for the year2011 through Entrance Examination.
The Entrance Examination will be of multiple choice type questions totaling 200 in the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Each answer with correct response shall be awarded one mark.
Zero mark will be given for the question not answered. More than one
answer indicated against a question, will be deemed as incorrect
response and no mark will be given. There is no NEGATIVE MARKING.
i) The Applicant should be a Resident Indian National.
ii) The Applicant should have studied and completed their course in the schools located in India in the preceding two years
iii) He/She has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December 2011, the year of his/her admission to the 1st year M.B.B.S., i.e. they should have been born on or before 01-01-1995, and is an INDIAN NATIONAL. Request for relaxation from the prescribed age limit will not be considered for any category of applicants).
iv) The applicants should have passed the qualifying examinations in the manner mentioned below:
(a) The Higher / Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher / Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study comprising Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio-technology and Mathematics or any other elective with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training after introduction of the 10+2+3 educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education
(b) The applicant must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio-technology at the qualifying examination and competitive entrance examination. For candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribe or Other Backward Classes / OPH the marks obtained in the Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Bio-technology taken together in the qualifying examination and competitive entrance examination is 40%.
(c) For OPH candidates in general category the minimum marks taken together in the qualifying examination and competitive entrance examination will be 45% Annexure - I lists the examinations recognized by JIPMER
(d) The Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination other than those mentioned in the list appended in Annexure – I, will have to submit an Eligibility Certificate before admission is finalized. Obtaining such an Eligibility Certificate from the JIPMER is essential to foreign nationals nominated by the Central Government for admission to JIPMER M.B.B.S. Course.
